Black Friday Link Dump

For anyone who finds themselves in this space wishing they had more info regarding Black Friday™, aka Pokerpocalypse™, aka The World is Ending™, aka So Is It Safe to Play on Bodog?™, here are some links:

Game Over, an article written by myself and fellow operator of PokerTips.org briefly summarizing what happened and speculating on what we might see moving forward.

Me on Twitter. I’ve been Tweeting and re-Tweeting links to interesting articles as I find them.

Kevmath on Twitter. He has been one of the leaders in keeping up with posting relevant links/commentary on Twitter. Other good people to follow have been: Gary Wise, pkrgssp, PokerScout1 (of PokerScout.com fame), Mark Gahagan, ESPN Poker, WSJ reporter Alexandra Berzon, and scarlet_lv. There have been several other people doing a great job parsing information since Poker Doomsday™ and I apologize for the ones I’ve left out; this was just a quick list off the top of my head.

As ZeeJustin pointed out on Facebook, posts #1 and #39 in this thread both give some interesting legal commentary on the situation.

Wicked Chops Poker, a great entertaining poker blog that has always been nice enough to link to my blog after dubbing me Super Ginger™ during the 2008 WSOP Main Event, recently posted a great article on the Winners and Losers of this debacle.

There’s been some discussion in this thread on the poker forums I oversee.

I guess that’s enough for now. If you follow those people I mentioned on Twitter, chances are you’ll be exposed to all of the relevant breaking news re: Operation: The DOJ Took My Jarb!™ (Twitter is awesome like that; I heard about the DOJ indictment like 5 minutes after it happened because of Twitter, #winning).

Edit: And here’s a WSJ article I helped the reporter out with. She asked a lot of smart questions for someone not entirely native to the poker player lifestyle.
